In the Spotlight: Milan Klemenčič

Besides being the first professional Slovene puppeteer, Milan Klemenčič was a painter, set designer and photographer. By studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, the Milan-based Brera Academy of Fine Arts and at the Royal Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, he was one of the few painters of the pre-war generation from the region of Primorska who had trained abroad. His artistic work will be showcased by experts from the regional museum Goriški Muzej, who will shed light on his role in local society (specifically, the area of Gorica and Ajdovščina), his artistic versatility and talk about the restoration process performed on Klemenčič's paintings from the Museum's collection.
