What is the story behind the Museum of Puppetry?
The Museum of Puppetry is joint project of Ljubljana Puppet Theatre and Ljubljana Castle. It was implemented with the help of European Funds  n the context of co-financing of projects of public cultural infrastructure of the European Regional Development Fund (Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development Potentials for the period 2007-2013, in the context of development priorities: 3. Integration of natural and cultural potentials and priority policies 3.2 Networking of cultural potentials). It is co-financed by the Municipality of Ljubljana and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.

What is the Museum of Puppetry?
Museum of Puppetry collects objects of art (with a focus on puppetry) to exhibit them, study them and preserve them as well as possible for the future. It operates on different locations.
Museum department is a part of the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre which together with Public Institution Ljubljana Castle takes care for the Permanent exhibition. Museum archive is dislocated and it is an integrated part of Ljubljana Puppet Theatre fundus.
